Born in Chandigarh, India, I grew up in the UK. I speak Hindi, Panjabi and some French, and have edited films in Farsi, Polish and Greek.
I hold an MA in Editing (Distinction) from the National Film and Television School, and was a Toledo Scholar. My student films were shown at BAFTA-qualifying festivals worldwide, and shortlisted for a Grierson Award and a Student Academy Award. I also hold a BA Hons in English Literature (First) from Oxford University.
Before retraining at NFTS, I worked for 15 years across feature film production, theatre and artists’ moving image. My firsthand knowledge of working on sets and with actors has been a boon in the cutting room.
My approach to storytelling is both visceral and analytical. I relish exploration in the edit - from grappling with structure to shaping character, tone, rhythm and feeling. I especially enjoy projects that are inventive with genre and form.
