TANYA SINGH Film & TV Editor
Tanya Singh is a film and TV editor, based in London. She specialises in drama and creative documentary.

Recent credits include: Birds of War (2026) and A Knock at the Door (2025).

Her films have been selected for and won awards at Sundance Film Festival, Visions du Réel, Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival, Sheffield DocFest, Telluride, Sitges, London International Animation Festival, and many others. Her documentary shorts have been nominated for two Grierson Awards, a Student Oscar, and an IDA Documentary Award. Broadcasters include Channel 4, Channel 5 and BBC.

In 2025, she graduated with distinction from the Editing MA at the UK’s National Film and Television School, where she was a Toledo Scholar and is now a visiting tutor. She also holds a 1st Class BA Hons in English Literature from the University of Oxford.

Before retraining as an editor, she worked for over a decade in feature film production, experimental theatre and artists’ moving image. This diverse background - working on location shoots, on programming/curation, and with actors - has been invaluable in the cutting room.

Stuff she is into: taking bold swings with genre and form; colonial and anticolonial archives; 1980s neo-noir; epic and nonhuman perspectives; slapstick; moral uncertainty.

She speaks Panjabi, Hindi, Urdu, and some French, and has cut in multiple languages including Polish, Tamil, Farsi and Arabic. She is always keen to explore international stories and collaborations.
